Agenda: Michael Marriott is one of the world's leading rosarians. He is also well-known for his rose garden design and is an advocate of practical gardening techniques and organic methods. As a garden designer, he is known for dense romantic beds whether purely roses or mixed with perennials. His enthusiasm is infectious and his knowledge of roses is encyclopedic, especially for species roses, old roses, climbers and ramblers, the modern roses and of course, David Austin's English Roses.
Michael was an integral part of David Austin Roses for 35 years at the firm's headquarters in Albrighton where he played an important part in the development and popularization of English Roses. He has intimate knowledge of all the 200-plus English Roses bred and introduced by David Austin Roses.
"Roses are incredibly variable and versatile plants; they can be used in many different ways in the garden from the very formal to the completely informal, and from the intimate to the large scale. Not only can they look even more beautiful in associate with other plants, they can also help with reducing pest and disease problems. It is easy to argue that they are the most garden worthy of all plants."
The New England Rose Society has been helping people grow better roses since 1940.
Why should I join the New England Rose Society?
Because I am not sure if rose gardening is for me, but I would like to find out.

Because I love roses and want to share my enthusiasm with others.
Who are we?/What is the New England Rose Society?
